Gweilo Beer owns 1 brewery:
Description
Gweilo was founded by husband and wife Ian and Emily and their friend Joseph, who each shared a simple dream: to create fun, fresh, natural, unpasteurised beers for the people of Hong Kong and Asia to enjoy.

We originally started contract brewing our Pale Ale, IPA and Wit beers in 2015, then in June 2017, our friends at BCI, who we met whilst home brewing in Hong Kong, acquired a minority stake in Gweilo and subsequently funded and managed the building of our flagship brewery, which opened in March 2018. We have a state of the art facility with a 3500L 4-Vessel brew deck, 115000L cellar, centrifuge, rotary canning and bottling lines and a lab. Head of Brewing Operations, Brian Leslie. Supporting him is an experienced team of brewers and packaging specialists. Now things are getting serious.

We have a Core Range of six beers, a Limited Range, a Collaboration Range and in time, we’ll be introducing barrel ageing and sour programs.

Our core range is true to our British roots, formed of session style brews ranging between 4% and 6%ABV. Keeping approachability at the heart of this range, we have a Pilsner, Pale Ale, Session IPA, Hoppy Wheat, Citrus Crusher and American IPA.

Our Limited and Collaboration ranges enable us to unleash our inner beer geeks and experiment. We intend to continually push the boundaries, brewing beers which take people on a journey through the wonderful and diverse world that is craft beer.

Can shared with the Bangkok tasting crew. Poured a hazy straw colour with a round bubbly white head. The aroma is malt, big yuzu fruit. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a crisp, fresh, grainy, mineral, metallic, yuzu fruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Tap at Maruho Namba Skyo. Gweilo Blazon IPA 6% Opaque matte orange copper with a thick head. Very fruity aroma and a bit of overripe fruit as well. Medium to full bodied with butterscotch diacetyl notes which are a put off. The taste is mostly fruity butterscotch and kind of feels heat damaged/off. It is ok but I’m sure is better at the source. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottleshare @ Yggdrasil Brewing pre-open. Light yellow pour with a slight haze. Super citric yuzu and fresh nose. Aggressive citric bitterness in taste plus some strong yuzu there. Dry and bitter finish. Bit unbalanced bit interestingly bold use of this pungent fruit.

Tap @ MBCT Red Session. Nice hazy orange pour, some foam on top. Nose has some grainy base, fruity hops. Tastes quite fruity, bitter and smooth, relatively simple but not badly made.

Can from Brewcraft at home. Slightly hazy straw yellow pour with thin fuzzy head. Aroma is citric zesty pilsner, but not as interesting as expected. Taste has some yuzu but very faint, mostly a hoppy pilsner bite and some slight citrus juiciness. Not bad but disappointing versus the description and recent Gweilo beers.
