Description
Oakshire is a is a community inspired small batch brewing company privately owned by the family and friends of our company’s founders. Oakshire operates a small, 4,000 square-foot production brewery in Northwest Eugene, as well as the Oakshire Public House in Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood and the Oakshire Beer Hall in the Concordia/Cully neighborhood in Northeast Portland.

Eugene was chosen as Oakshire’s location in part due to the accessibility of clean, soft water from the McKenzie River. Since 2013, Oakshire Brewing has partnered with our local land conservation group, the McKenzie River Trust. One percent of Watershed IPA sales revenue is set aside for the protection of local watersheds in the territories where the beer is sold, helping to preserve the clean water that is so vital to our community and our beer.

On tap at John's Marketplace - SE Powell, pours black with almost no head. Nose is loaded with bourbon barrels, light vanilla, some light peated character, dark dried fruits, and caramel. Flavour is decadent, with intense bourbon barrels, light whiskey, vanilla, molasses and caramel. Sweet but nowhere close to cloying, with incredible depth. Just divine.

Pours a thick, murky, brownish-pink(?), with big, lasting, brownish head. This is just an ugly beer. Aroma is pineapple, brown sugar, graham cracker. Flavor is pineapple, cherry, brown sugar, caramel, graham cracker. This stuff is thick, thick, thick.

1 pint can. Blackish with a small khaki head. Aroma is quite pungent with coffee, and that is it, just coffee. Coffee is a very strong dark roast and is pleasantly bitter. Palate is full and creamy. Finishes long and glorious with lingering coffee. Overall: decent. will buy again.
