bomber bottle, wax dipped. black pour with a small brown head that soon fades to a fine ring. The aroma is strong with whiskey, vanilla and dark fruits. The taste mirrors the aroma with dark fruits, anise, vanilla and bourbon barrel. Thje palate is full anf oily. carbonation is soft. Finishes long and semi sweet. Overall: decent quaff, compares favorably to dark lord and other monsters. Pairesd well with some aged gouda cheese.

750 bottle. Pours a murky dark copper color with a big sudsy off-white head. The aroma is strong with a bit of funk, wood, and musty fruits. The taste is complex with mixed fruits--I get some apple, pears, and perhaps apricots-- there is also a bit of toffee in there. The palate is a bit thin with lively carbonation. Finished medium in duration and very dry. Overall: decent brew. I am unsure whether or not this is a new bottling, or an old one, because Oakshire brewing is currently about 17 years old and not 11. In any case its a wonderful brew.

pint can. Pours a reddish dark brown with a large sudsy beige head that has fair retention. The aroma is malty with grains, toffee and sawdust. The taste was lightly toasted grains, toffee and wood. The hops were moderately pine bitter with an earthy aspect. The palate was full, but yet, somehow unsatisfying. Finished short and dry. Overall: Interesting concoction. paired well with some Italian cheese.

On tap at Nebulous. Pours a jet black hue with almost no head. A big nose of whiskey and chocolate. Slick, very syrupy, some heat, lots of bourbon, dark fruit, vanilla, chocolate. This is good, but it's near the extreme side of dessert stouts. I might be a little bit burnt out on them. But very well executed.

22oz @ Matt's new place. Appearance: almost black with a weak dark beige head. Aroma: different barrels, smells more like a barleywine and stout blend. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: pretty good, but far from their top things. Wouldn't be able to finish it alone.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich, complex and extreme, with lots of whiskey barrels, bourbon, and medium roast. Flavour is extremely bold, with lots of earthy whiskey barrels, bourbon barrels, and medium roast. It's a bit too earthy, but the barrel blend is quite nice. Seems a bit jumbled but it's nicely blended.
