Description
Oakshire is a is a community inspired small batch brewing company privately owned by the family and friends of our company’s founders. Oakshire operates a small, 4,000 square-foot production brewery in Northwest Eugene, as well as the Oakshire Public House in Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood and the Oakshire Beer Hall in the Concordia/Cully neighborhood in Northeast Portland.
Eugene was chosen as Oakshire’s location in part due to the accessibility of clean, soft water from the McKenzie River. Since 2013, Oakshire Brewing has partnered with our local land conservation group, the McKenzie River Trust. One percent of Watershed IPA sales revenue is set aside for the protection of local watersheds in the territories where the beer is sold, helping to preserve the clean water that is so vital to our community and our beer.

On tap at Chuck's Hop Shop - Seward Park, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma smells like a latte, with light gingerbread, lactose, brown sugar, and some coffee of course. Flavour is drier than expected, with lots of espresso, gentle ginger, some sugars, and cocoa. Thankfully, not too gingery, more coffee-ish. Palate is light for an impie but thick enough to pack a punch. Cohesive. Not my favourite flavours, but well-made.

22oz @ Matt's new place. Appearance: very dark brown with no head. Aroma: dark fruits, American oak, some little fruity acidity, moderate sweetness. Taste: very sweet, a little bit boozy, quite sweet, loads of Ameican oak, vanilla, and chocolate. Overall: tastes more like a blend of imperial stouts and barleywine, more smooth than a regular BBA IS. Reminded me somehow BCBS BW. Very nice.

Pours sort of inky, not much head. The aroma is a bit nutty, light chocolate, slight fruit, and it's big. Nice subtle complexity on a big body. Light carbonation, enough to pull the flavours through nicely. The bourbon nose is nicely layered over top. Sticky dark sugars, with plum, prune, liquorice and burnt fruits. Good alcohol, and very nice complexity. Bourbon again lends layers to this, and cuts some of the sugars. Very good stuff.

22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a tiny head. Aroma is very rich and integrated, with lots of bourbon barrels, gentle roast, a hint of coffee and cocoa. Flavour is rich, intense and integrated, with big bourbon barrels, dark sugars, molasses, and moderate roast. Big bourbon and dark sugars in wonderful harmony. Excellent.

(Can) cloudy, bright yellow orange colour with a small white head; aroma of apple sauce, can separated into 1/4 liquid and 3/4 full of apple sauce consistency; balanced flavour - kind of like apple sauce beer smoothie with emphasis on apple sauce, unorthodox but tasty

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a tiny tan head. Nose brings out a nice whiskey barrel character, medium roast, and a touch of vanillin. Flavour reveals a real nice whiskey barrel character, medium roast, oak, and a touch of vanillin. The booze is surprisingly well-hidden, finishing with real nice whiskey, oaky character. Excellent.

22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out the raspberries upfront, followed by chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon barrels. Flavour is rich, with lots of chocolated-covered raspberries, bourbon, vanilla, and dark sugars. Really nice chocolate-covered raspberries. The booze is surprisingly well-hidden. Tasty.
