22oz @ Matt's (thx for the beer, man!) house. Appearance: pours like oil, very dark brown with a dark beige head. Aroma: lots of American oak, some sweetness. Taste: lots of American oak and charred barrel, quite thick and sweet. Overall: good one.

22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is dense, with lots of dark malts, molasses, sugars, and bourbon barrels -- kind of jumbled. Flavour is extremely rich and intense, with lots of bourbon barrels, light smokiness, dark sugars, molasses, and some vanillin. Complex, rich, and well-integrated. Palate is very viscous, almost syrupy, but not cloyingly sweet at all despite leaning on the sweet side. Excellent as usual.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Near black with almost no beige head. Old musty wood, black strap molasses, some mild whiskey notes in the background. Decent. Barrel reminds me of something that's been sitting on an old wooden sail boat from the 1700s (not sure how else to explain that - goto a Maritime museum?).

Dullish purplish sort of thing. Mellow tartness but kind of a basic kit lacto thing. Touch of blueberry, not much lemon, lacks complexity.

pitch black color. Big bourbon, dark chocolate , oak coffee, vanilla roasted malts. Very thick and sweet, tons of bourbon. Silky smooth. . Just perfectly integrated and well executed

500mL bottle drunk 2/14/24. Clear dark mahogany. No head. A bit sweet...fudgey, gluey? Hmmm. Yes sweet, not horribly so, though a bit hot with heat post swallow. Some excellent bourbon but I wish it were better presented. Just needed more age. Lingering bread, dull alcohol. Good potential here....

Pint can. slightly hazy gold pour with a medium sized white head that has good lasting retention. The aroma is big and bold with mixed fresh citrus--mostly grapefruit. The taste, like the aroma, is a cornucopia of citrus; I get Grapefruit, passionfruit, mangoes, guava, pine resins and some lemon. The palate is full and viscous with lively carbonation. Finishes long and semi-dry with lingering bitter pine. Overall: Decent--really decent. Seems like a cross between a west coast IPA and NEIPA.

Pint can. Pours a nearly opaque dark brown color with a small head that slowly recedes to a fine ring around the glass. The aroma is dark fruits, burnt sugar, and roasted grains. The taste is dominated by brown sugar, molasses, pecans, walnuts and raisins. The palate is full and the carbonation is soft, Finished long and sweet. Overall: Decent dopplebock--sweet but not cloying.
