Gravity dispense at Pig’s Ear Festival 2008, London
Dark brown color. Aroma of barley coffee (available in Italy, for example) quite nice. It has a chocolatey flavor and some caramel, quite simple.

Cask at Priory Arms, Stockwell, London, 21 Nov 2008. Dark brown colour, almost black, with ruby hints. Frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of chocolate, coffee and dark rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, prunes and a slightly bittersweet finish. Medium body, fairly sweet and very tasty. Very nice mild ale. In short: coffee, chocolate and dried fruit.

Cask at the Woolpack Beer Festival 08, Banbury, Oxon, in the company of Glen, Trev and a good sprinkling of local CAMRA members This beer poured a very dark brown and had a wonderful light tan head, it looked quite perfect. There was some light cocoa powder on the nose nice milk chocolate creaminess to this beer, very chocolatey quite indulgent and so moreish. There were other things than chocolate like some nice soft roasty flavours and coffee but these really didn’t interest me it was the chocolate and richness and smoothness of this beer that appealed to me. If you like chocolate you’ll love it, I did.
