Description
Our story starts back in 1992 when Kane Yeardley, our MD, bought an old, disused warehouse and turned it into what was to become one of Sheffield's most loved venues, The Forum. From there Forum Cafe Bars was born and ever since the company has gone from strength to strength - we now have venues throughout Sheffield and the surrounding areas, a successful brewery, gin distillery and coffee roastery. In January 2016 the company name was changed to True North Brew Co.
From 2012 when their beers initially appeared, they brewed under contract initially at Exit 33 Brewing Ltd and latterly at Welbeck Abbey Brewery. In Summer 2015 they opened their own brewery located next to The Forum at 47 Eldon Street in Sheffield.

Draft at The Forum. Hazy golden pour (unfiltered?), with a small creamy white head. Biscuity aroma, crackers. Taste brings light fruity notes, still mostly grainy flavors. A small dry bitter bite shows up at the end

Pours a clear amber colour with a lasting small thick and creamy off-white head. The aroma is malty, toasted malt, light toffee and leafy hop notes. A moderately sweet and bitter taste, malty and leafy hop flavours with a lingering hoppy bitterness.

Cask at EBF Summer 22. Aroma has stone fruit, citrus and yeah. Hazy dark mango. Thin creamy white head. Light-medium bitter. Stone fruit, citrus and spice. Underlying malts. But low key. Flat carbonation with a slight prickle. Long dry finish. Slightly astringent. Nice enough but bland.

Cask at Sun, Stafford. Pours golden yellow with a small foamy white head and good lacing. Slow to settle, but does so eventually. Not much of a nose, just some vague floral hops and hints of vanilla. In the mouth it is thin and sweet with floral hops, biscuits and hints fo berry fruits. Finish is slightly sweet. This is OK, but rather boring.

Cask. Oxbow, Woodhouse Sheffield. Colour is spot on. Clear bright gold. Tight white head. Nose isn’t far off either. Maybe a bit more malty. Yeast profile is bang on. Holy shit I drank gallons of this, not to mention served thousands of pints. It’s good. Faithful definitely.
