16 oz can at RI. Brewfest 2023. Flavor is malt, yeast with a lighter texture. Yeah it’s true to style. It is what it is. Nothing much to report here.

16 oz can poured, sent by Jow. Thanks! Add this to the surprisingly short list of NE style IPAs that I've had that are actually from the namesake region. Juicy golden haze. Big loose foam head. Layered aroma with juicy fruit and winter pine. Smooth and soothing taste, with very little hop aggressiveness or bitterness, though the late palate has a piney, almost minty hop reminder. Lots of fruity hop flavor, but this remains balanced nicely. Cereal grains throughout pair nicely. Long, cool, smooth finish. Tasty hazy here for sure.

16 oz. can shared by tfontana. Aroma is mild peanut butter chocolate. The flavor shows me more of a bitter chocolate and cocoa. Peanut butter just doesn’t stand out in the flavor to me. Body and texture are good.

Can (12/6/21) pour from Nikki's Liquors. It's an opaque black with nice viscosity, finger-width creamy light-brown head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong roasted peanut butter. Taste is strong roasted peanuts, dark/baker's chocolate. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, between the roasted peanuts and baker's chocolate, a more bitter component than other PB beers.

Can, no date, from Fort Point Market cooler, drunk 3/15/22. Moderately hazy, beige-bronze-golden with a small but staunch, white head. Somewhat sourdough-heavy or sour citrus maybe. A bit resinous/twangy with too much heavy, somewhat punchy pineapple, though some softer honey and fruitier tropical notes towards the back end. No alcohol. Same for the flavor. Just a bit too much resin/acidity builds up on the palate and the malt doesn't seem to clear it but almost exacerbates it with a sourdough-like character. Heavy pineapple from the strata is a bit unbalanced and there's too much pine lingering and overly sour citrus as well. Maybe it's too young? Not sure since it's not dated.

16 oz can. Dated 10/19/21. Aroma is nothing but pine, caramel and a lot of herbal hops. The flavor reminds me of an IPA brewed in 2005. All West Coast through and through. Bold caramel malt and long lasting pine. I don’t drink West Coast IPA’s anymore. The strong pine / caramel combo is just too much for me.

16 oz can. Dated 10/19/21. Flavor shows very mild tropical fruit and citrus. The mouth feel is nice and soft with a little bit of juice texture. It’s well-made and drinks easy enough just enters into the “ very ordinary “ in today’s IPA market.
