Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol, 9/1/2014. Golden in colour with a decent white head. Light, tropical fruit and tangerine notes, with some crisp malts and a dryish finish. Good.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 25/9/2013. Golden with a slight white head. Grapefruit and tangerine fruit aroma with some grassy hops. Flavour had more citrus, cereal malts and dryish finish. Good.

Cask (gravity) @ 29th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2012, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.Clear dark brown color with a small to average, open and frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing to lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, light to moderate hoppy, roasted, dark roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, sweet malt, dark malt, malt bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121204]

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 8/7/2013. Opaque black with a slight tan head. Plain chocolate and roasted malts, a suggestion of liquorice and dryish, toasty finish. Very good.

On gravity, at Barrow Hill Beer Festival - A second choice wonder this one, as my first one had just run out. Recommended by the barman, he wasn’t wrong. Quite a lot like a winter ale with lots of fruitcake flavours. Deep ruby, white head, loads of boozy kicks in it. Wonderfully warming.

Cask at The Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured a hazy amber with no head, no lace and no carbonation. This beer is pushing up the Daisy’s! The aroma is stale malt. The flavour is weak bitter, malty and not much else and the palate is rather weak. Its rather lifeless and tasteless too. I’m glad I didn’t order a pint!
