Can from the sister-in-law. Aroma is rich - combines chocolate, dark berries, grains and a hint of smoke. Hazy or, more accurately, murky dark brown. Foamy off-white head. Medium sour. Dark berries and rye... which I guess makes sense as sour bread is made from rye. Underlying bitterness is more prominent into the finish. As I drank more the sourness did develop sweet malty hints and even a vinous element. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Long dry astringent. Interesting - eventually it seems like a malty red with elements of a more Belgian style.

Can from me s-i-l. Aroma combines sweet toffee, cinnamon and sour milk. A murky light chestnut. Thick foamy off-white head. The info on the can provides no clues but clearly contains cinnamon and presumably other spices... ginger. In fact tastes like gingerbread, milky chocolate and toffee. Underlying bitterness. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average carbonation. Long astringent finish. If this was given to me blind I think I'd be forgiven for thinking it was some sort of milk Stout. Decent. I'm not overly keen on sweet beers but this isn't an issue for me on this one. However I am.not convinced it'd go with roast Turkey, perhaps more the dessert? Although the brewery fail to mention that these beers are intended for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Can bought by my s-i-l. Aroma is citrusy- orange to be precise - with a dry spiciness. Hazy orange. Thin creamy white head. Medium sour. Some bitterness. Spice. Brut notes. Light-medium bodied. Slick if thin feeling. Average carbonation. Ling dry finish. As the first of three beers for Christmas day this certainly fits the bill as it reminds me of what my wife had been drinking. A light and refreshing start to the day... if I had got it earlier and then hadn't spent 4 + hours putting Playmobil together. Just a tad bland.
