Christmas present from the sister-in-law. Resin and citrus aroma. A peachy amber. Fat fluffy white head. Hazy. Citrus. Bitter. Has a quite cutting edge to it. Juicy. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft carb. Dry astringent finish. Decent. The bottle mentions, "just enough edge," but there's more than that. Citrus punch.

Bottle - Christmas present from the sister-in-law. Aroma of coffee and chocolate, with malts. Dark and glossy. Foamy beige head. Bitter, creamy coffee, briefly. However a tart berry edge then comes to the fore. Medium bodied. Creamy, semi-skimmed. A tickle of carbonation. Astringent dry finish, although there's an underlying creamy coffee bringing things to a close. Really good porter.

Christmas present from the sister-in-law, who bought it at some sort of Christmas market. If we'd opened presents before lunch I would have drunk this with me dinner, as per manufacturer's instructions. Floral sugary aroma. Opaque brown. Thin bubbly off-white head. Medium bitter (berries and fruit), with a malty finish. Underlying caramel sweetness. Light-medium bodied. Thin with a slick mouthfeel in the long finish. Average carbonation. Of the two Christmas ESBs I've had today this was far the better, purely due to being well balanced and restrained.
