Description
Drygate is the UK’s first experiential craft brewery. Opened in June 2014, Drygate is a brand new brewery nestled in the historic east end of Glasgow, close to Tennents Brewery and Glasgow Cathedral. Brewing has been taking place continuously in this area since the 16th century.

Bottle at the brewery. Pours black, nose is chocolate, vanilla, burnt toffee, berries, a touch of smoke, taste is sweet toffee, raisin, liquorice, chocolate, vanilla, fruity. A little thin for the strength. 8

Bière à la robe noire profonde, surmontée d’une mousse beige claire, fine et assez persistante. Nez gourmand et enveloppant sur le chocolat, le café fraîchement moulu, avec une touche de vanille et une douceur lactée. En bouche, l’attaque est ronde, presque crémeuse, portée par le lactose, avec des saveurs de cacao, de café et de malt torréfié bien présentes. Le corps est modéré, l’ensemble reste fluide et accessible. La finale est douce, légèrement amère, tout en subtilité. Une mocha milk stout équilibrée, réconfortante et très facile à apprécier.

330ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with a fast-disappearing beige head. Armas & tastes of chocolate, vanilla, berries, burnt toffee, raisin, hints of smoke, oak, whiskey & roast malt. Moderate to medium body. Sweet finish.

Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Beige head.
Nose - molasses, liquorice and roast.
Taste - roast, generally savoury with dry molasses and salted liquorice.
Palate - medium bodied, roast and long dry finish.
Overall - a bit gnarly but worth the struggle.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of toffee and gravy. Taste is more of the same. Not really in to this. OK I guess.
