Dark brown color with thin head. Smells like a ton of cold coffee with slight notes of roasted malt and caramel. Sweet, unbalanced mouth that is over ridden with coffee. Lingering coffee roasted finish. I wanted to like this, but very simplistic brew that went no where

Purchased at Binny's in Chicago, IL, enjoyed at a friends house on the first nice Saturday of the spring season. Appearance is a dark murky brown with a rich off white head that laces to the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, has a nice hoppy quality, light sweetness, smells pretty nice. Taste is rich, has a nice sweetness to it and masks the alcohol content. Pipeworks is quickly becoming one of my favorite local breweries.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of kanin1805. Pours a deep red with a slight haze and a creamy beige head. Spicy nose - cinnamon and cloves sticking out? Rich body, soft carbonation, subtle roast, ashy smoke - peat - with the spices chiming in a little late. A slight pepper bite. Some warming alcohol. A beer that wants to do too many things at once.... 030413

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of kanin1805. Pours a deep reddish amber with a slight haze and a small beige head. Nose has thick molasses, juicy nuts and caramel. Very rich body, a massive maltiness, thick cane sugar but never cloying as such. A touch of spices, but again not overdone. Some warming alcohol. No real traces of smoke. A rich and wholesome beer! 030413
