Batch 87 - Aroma is dominated by hops with some nice grapefruit, citrus and light hop resin. Secondary tropical fruit notes are also present but much fainter. Light malt aroma and light alcohol note also present. Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange with an inch tall, pillowy white head that slowly but steadily recedes. Flavor is similar to the aroma with citrus hops dominating, but this time the citrus is less grapefruit and more orange. Mid palate you get some malt character with some light cracker and a bit of an odd nuttiness; it is not off putting, just unexpected. some light tropical fruit notes and quite a bit of resin in the finish. a bit of alcohol spice to the finish. Bitterness is moderately strong but not astringent. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and moderate alcohol warmth. Nice dry finish, only slightly sticky. Overall this is a pretty good DIPA. Nice, light malt character angry finish. The hops aren't too fruity an work well with the malt. I'm not sure where the nuttiness in the malt is coming from but it was a little odd at first. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Batch 81. Enjoyed in a tulip. Poured a slightly cloudy orange hue with a 2 finger head. Nose is earthy with a grassy bit with nice peach and mango notes. Taste is very well rounded. Extreme bitterness. Lots of citrus. Very earthy and drinkable. Only annoying thing is the big malt presence but it is a 9.5% IPA.
