Can, from the brewery. The label says Belgian Style Golden Ale, and 8.5% ABV instead of 9% but I assume it's the same beer. Pours clear golden with some floating golden particles, large foamy white head, faint sweet malt aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter malty taste, smooth thin body, long bitter finish. Not too bad but not like what I expected from a Belgian Strong Ale.

Pour is a clear blond with a large white head. Aorma is a bit fruity and banana. Flavor is fruity with some banana and a bit of burning alcohol. Obviously this is a Duvel clone. While there are similarties the alcohol really stands out here.

Pour is a hazy blonde with a huge white head. Aroma is yeast esterand lemon drop hops. Flavor is likewise. A nice fruit yeast ester with lots of lemon on the tongue. Pretty spot on saison here.

Pour is a hazy blonde with a large white head. Aroma is a touch of sour funk with a dry malt. Flavor is the same. A ever so slight tart and our frunk with some dry malt to wash the tongue clean. Not a mind blowing saison but pretty tasty.

12oz can brought back from Chicago by Anndiesel. One of the weirdest beers I've had in recent memory. Pickle juice-like red pepper tone, some oily oak, a busted half ass Wee Heavy in the background. Mellow warming heat, nothing over the top but definitely there. Quite an oddball beer, not so impressively executed.

Really classic-style saison. Nothing modern about it. Lovely. Love the label art, too. My first from these Chicago peeps.

At least this time, I prepared for the likely gusher by opening the can over the sink, and let the glass settle. There is a big pear nose when I first poured the foamy beer into a tulip glass. It takes while to settle, but the fluffy big head is still there, under a slightly hazy yellow beer body. Dry hopping plays up a fruity aspect that goes with the coriander notes of this style. The finish is dry, but overall it has more maltiness than bitterness. Very likeable. The alcohol is not too big.
