12 ounce bottle, 7/4/16. Slightly hazy golden, thin fizzy white head, good retention. Aroma of rye, toasted pale malt and hints of grass. The taste is bitter grapefruit, rye, pale malt. Thin.

This ESB poured a nice amber colour with a huge off white, creamy head. Scents include cereal, honey and a little caramel. First swig was not bad with flavours of cereal, light hops, honey and mild caramel. Finish was a little bitter with hoppy caramel flavours lingering... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft 10 oz pour at the Forecasters Pub. Summer seasonal still hanging on by a thread. Baseball still being played, might as well grab what is likely my last summer seasonal beer of 2016. Rating a beer named after a trail I have ran every week for the last 5 years. Gotta put this in stone anyway. Golden orange pour with a thin oily head. Sweet banana and farmhouse yeast aroma. Flavor is cool and refreshing. Belgian like yeast, soft banana, mango remainder. Straw grains hide. Not a bad saison, but not the most pair worthy beer to the trail in my opinion. Not typical that’s for sure. Interesting.

Draft 10 oz pour at the Forcasters Pub. Every couple months or so I pop in here to try the new, highly unheard of, and in turn, highly under appreciated Red Hook small batch series. Nick always seems to come up with some good stuff. Pours a dark copper brown with a thin island head. Soothing mocha aroma. Flavor is a solid roasted malt, sturdy chocolate, vanilla, cool caramel, and then more chocolate. A subtle coffee bitterness linger. Blackhook has been around a really long time. Born before I was, but its never tasted better than it.does right here.
