Bottle. Clear, ruby body with a decent beige head. Rounded nose with dried fruits, a little roasted nose, raisins, and a touch of port. The flavor has dried fruits, hints of alcohol, hops, roasted malt and raisins. Medium body. Lightly roasted finish with some hops and dried fruits. A nice mild, where the aroma is the most satisfying part of the experience. (070627)

Cask (handpump) @ Wenlock Arms, N1, Hoxton, London. Dark brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, burnt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft to flat.

Cask@GBBF2007. Dark amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is fruity hops with nectar, slight roast and wood. Flavour is the same with a lot of vanillaish hints.

Cask-GGBF. Dark brown with a small off-white head. Malty aroma with caramel, some wood, and a slightly floral note. Rather thin flavour, malty with a hint of vanilla.

Bottle. Amber with a strong, white head. Aroma was of toffee with some hops in the background. Flavour was well balanced with some doughy malt followed by a long, bitter finish. Good.

A very nice example of an English bitter. Poors copper with a small amount of off-white head. Tast is a good balance between malt and hop flavours. Enjoyable out of a bottle, even better on hand-pump.

Bottle, picked up at Majestic, Bicester 20-05-07 in a mixed case. Poured amber in colour, caramel on the nose, tastes fine with good balance of sweetness and bitterness and maltiness.

Bottle, picked up from Majestic, Bicester, 20-05-07 in a mixed pack. Pours copper coloured with white head. Malts prominent in the aroma, nice and fruity and malty soft tasting beer with some nice bitter touches, very good beer.

Bottle, picked up from Majestic in a mixed pack 20-05-07. Diff’ label, the label quite clearly calls this Thwaites Thoroughbred Gold, but the description, strength and ingredients appear to have been unchanged. Poured a warm golden colour with a bubbly white head, this beer has some hops and sweet malts in the aroma, tastes very good great bitterness finishing a tad dry.
