Canned 4/28/26, drunk 6/10/26.
Some juicy, round, tropical fruit pitted against more austere, acidic lemon character. Round, seemingly succulent malts balance appropriately. Bit of graham cracker/biscuit on the very end.
Soft, nicely malty and attenuated. Lemon is woven in to juicy tropical fruits. White bread and hints of graham cracker from the malt easily balance. There's a noble attempt at bitterness and I think it mostly succeeds, but I wouldn't hate a bit more, or perhaps a bit less roundness/sweetness.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to mug.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a two finger off white to cream colored frothy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: roasted dark malts, black coffee, dark chocolate and a little bit of woodiness
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to roasty quality; finishes dry with a light dark chocolate bitterness
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; good smoothness with a light dryness trying to grind into the tongue in an acceptable sort of way; good carb level
Overall: pretty good Irish dry stout.

Dark mahogany pour and small sudsy head. Nose is caramel and earth leather. Tatses of sasparilla, earth, caramel, oysters, hint of dates and fig. Little bland a dull palate missing some of the mild texture I love.

Can (1/5/25) from the brewery. Hazy gold, no sparkle, thin head with trace lacing. Aroma is tart fruit, lightly funky, light bubblegum, ginger-ale quality. Taste is strong bubblegum, wheat--more reminiscent of a Hefeweizen. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. A little something here for everyone but not totally attractive to me.

16 oz can. Aroma is bubblegum, clove, and maybe some wheat. Flavor follows with maybe a little bit of black pepper. This certainly leans more toward a Hefeweizen rather than a true Belgian / French Saison. Good.

Can (12/10/24) from the brewery. Opaque dark brown with nice sparkle, thin head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is strong caramel, toffee, milk chocolate. Taste is strong toffee, roasted malt, late hint of oak. Smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Pretty good complexity for a brown.

Can (10/29/24) from the brewery. Hazy dark rose-magenta with light sparkle, fizzy head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong plum/dark fruit, caramel, mild allspice. Taste is strong dark cherry, plum, caramel, hint of allspice. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation, finish as taste with mild bitterness. Booze hidden. True to style, competent across the board but not exceptional in any way. I enjoyed it.

Can (11/19/24) from the brewery. Hazy orange with nice sparkle, thin head, ring of lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine and dank herb and malts. Taste is citrus, dank pine and malt. Thin, frothy, soft, crisp, dry, lightly bitter finish. Hazy IPA in look only--more traditional/slightly West Coast.

Can (10/25/22) pour from Candia First Stoppe Country Store. It's an opaque, virtually black dark brown with nice sparkle, fizzy cap of light brown head and no lacing. Aroma is strong sweet and roasted malt with caramel, chocolate and a hint of cherry. Taste is strong initial sweet malt, then yielding caramel, mild chocolate and late bitterness resembling coffee. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and mildly bitter roasted finish. Overall, both aroma and taste are more complex than I was expecting with aroma more balanced.
