Can (24278) shared by Steve. Opaque dark brown, mild viscosity, thin head, light lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt/coffee over milder chocolate and vanilla, late mild earthy malt, slightly rubbery. Taste is strong chocolate, roasted malt/coffee, vanilla. Smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste with mix of sweet and lingering roasted bitterness. Slightly off putting quality to aroma that is thankfully missing from flavor.

Dark ruby colour, no head. Aroma is blueberry, some honey, a bit of yoghurt. Medium sweetness. Lively carbonation that makes this feel more like a soda than a beer. Meh.

Can (22321) pour from Steve. Lightly hazy brown-mahogany with nice sparkle and thin, fizzy, rapidly disappearing head. Aroma is caramel, roasted malt, light toasted wood. Tasted follows aroma. Mouthfeel is smooth but a bit frothy. As advertised though oak component is not real strong. OK.

Tip Tap draught, 3/11/23. Mostly clear, white-gold. Small, moderate-to-low retention head. Nose is soft, lightly lactic, with light white grape and mineral. Juicy, yet drying out with moderate lactic acidity and lots of white grape but it's not cheap/sugary. Juicy, soft, decent salinity and good attenuation.

16 oz can at RI. Brewfest 2023. Rhubarb is here without out. Bitter and sour at the same time. I don’t really get strawberry any place.

Pours clear, orange-tinged amber into a stein. Soapy tan head crackles and recedes to mottle surface. Sweet caramel aromas. Soft with sweet caramel and toasted brown bread upfront turning to dusty, cloying sourdough before the lasting earthy bark finish.

Tip Tap draught, 7/7/22. Very light haze. Bronze. Small, white head, moderate retention. Wow, Timberyard and River Styx were the breweries Tip Tap chose for their anniv. Beers??! Yikes! Heavy melon and peach, touch of resin and scallion, perhaps. Sparse, crackery malts. Fruity esters but no overt bubble gum. Oh Jesus. Thin, sourish, tannic, undermalted with overboiled hops and sweaty scallion and popcorn. Just truly fucking awful. Timberyard should stop making beer immediately. Times are tough when you've got these guys brewing you a special beer. Good God is this thin, undermalted, poorly hopped, astringent, and just exhibiting very few positive qualities.

Draught at City Tap, 10/25/21. Dark black color, undetermined clarity. Small, beige head with low retention. Nose is heavy, ashen-roast, light bits of nutty cacao, light-to-moderate dark fruit and strong mineral blandness. Some beany coffee character on the end, as well. Heavy, heavy black malt-like character eventually overtakes the fruity and nutty cacao, with vanilla-like notes unable to balance and a rather thin, poorly-developed malt structure leading to a watery, thin texture. Dark specialty malts are way, way, way too overdone. Pretty hard to stomach much of this.
