50cl can from Bargain Beers. Thick white head. Clear golden pour. A bit boring like all these turbo pilsners

Klares goldenes Bier mit einer geringen weißen Schaumkrone, hohe Karbonisation. Geruch leicht süßlich malzig, hopfig. Geschmack gering malzig, fast schon wässrig, gering süß getreidig, total langweilig.

Bottle, split at Chris and Ruth’s, 07/09/14. Clear chestnut brown with a moderate off white covering. Nose is nutty, mellow dark fruit rinds, light spice. Taste comprises toffee, woody notes, lightly oxidised. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.

500ml Can: opened two days before it’s best before date on 17th June 2014, shared it with my son, in the sun on the patio. One of those cheap booze shop specials that you know you shouldn’t buy but do. Actually if this had come in a posh Belgian bottle with ’Strong Belgian Ale’ on it I bet the scores would be higher than other ’super strength lagers’ because this wasn’t bad at all. Malty sweet with plenty of alcohol to find it, looked and tasted OK. --- Beer merged from original tick of Super X on 18 Jul 2013 at 02:41 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 3 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 4. Original review text: 500ml can: brewed at their Gotha site for ’Alcobond Consortium Ltd’ and sold in dodgy off-licenses in the UK in packs of four (cheaply). Looks like a regular Pilsner/Lager: bright, clear and golden with a fading white head. Metallic aroma, but not unpleasant (if that’s possible); some mild floral hop notes too. The taste was slightly maltier than I expected from the smell and the listed ingredient of ’hop extract’ on the can. Refreshing in the warm Shropshire sun, but not the sort of beer I would normally offer my guests unless I wanted to get rid of them: might get some for when my son visits next week! In short, a cheap booze shop lager and it shows in the taste.

Canned 500ml. -from local Plodine supermarket. Yellow coloured, medium sized white head, dusty nose. Weak malty, slight grainy and watery with light bitter finish. Had better had worse.

I was sort of enjoying this, until I read the first review which mentions vomit and sick. All of a sudden I’ve gone off it a bit. Cheap, though..
