Bottle (10/29/20) pour shared by ClarkVV and AirForceHops--thanks, guys! Opaque black with thin head, nice lacing. Aroma is strong dark roasted malts, toffee, pine. Taste is strong dark roasted malts, pine, toffee. Smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Not a barley wine--misnomer?--this is a good black IPA!

Bottle from Bar Antidote. Big thanks to the owner for selling us this. The flavor is of a black IPA. Flavor is chocolate, mild chocolate, and herbal hops. I don’t get any barrel characteristics and this has fresh hops. So if I rate as a black IPA, it is good! Personal note: the is my 1000th Vermont beer! Very fun story.

Bottled 10/29/2020, drunk 8/31/24. Dark maple-char. Still a small, beige head. Clear. Does smell like a dark IPA. Heavily fruity yeast, hints of smoke and caramel with a touch of licorice and toast. Fruity. Zero barrel. Clean, no booze. Chocolatey, malty, black IPA. Fresh PNW hops, lightly bitter. Looking for the bourbon, but there's none. This is fresh and young. Obviously this is not a 2020 bourbon BA Barleywine, but whatever, it's still well-made.
Roasty, chocolate, hops, more like a black ipa than a barleywine. No barrel present.

16 oz draft. Strange aroma of oats with a soft cracker hint. Flavor is the cracker with a very mild hint of butter. Not obnoxious still very drinkable..

Bar Antidote draught, 7/5/24. Clear brass-golden. Giant, white head. Smells like milk, or oatmeal with milk in it. Buttery, milky, light with rustic cereal grain and a good maltiness. Despite the Diacetyl, this is still quite good. Excellent texture and attenuation.

16 oz draft. Flavor has a rich malt depth. Chocolate, coffee, mild earthy bitter finish. Great body and texture for the gravity.

16 oz draft. Aroma has a mild cracker malt with a citrus note. Flavor shows the citrus with a soft malt sweetness in the finish. Leans on sweet but not bad at all.

Brewery draught, 7/6/24. Clear. Roasty, chocolatey, aromatic and clean. Sweet, malty, juicy dark fruits with succulent prune, licorice and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied, nicely bitter without being too roasty. The lingering prune-vanilla-char is killer. Very well-done with immense flavor for its size.

Brewery draught, 7/6/24. Moderately to heavily hazy. Blonde-brass-golden. Small, white head to cover. Tropical hops with big fruity yeast and light bubble gum. Soft, sweet, succulent malts. Clean. Soft, sweet, but drying out with biscuit and cracker. Very yeasty. Some light bitterness with tropical fruit and mild citrus. Not massively hoppy, but quite clean and showing enough bitterness and dryness on the finish.
