Can. Hazy orange gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Not very West Coast IPA in appearance! Airy smooth palate, a very mild dryness, decent superfine minerally carbonation. Smooth malts. Big fan of Chevalier and here is a reason why, smooth and creamy and yet rich but never grainy. Hops bring cooling pine and a pleasing mild bitterness. Modest hop spice sits in the background and leaves centre stage to smooth marmaladey hops, some soft but brighter citrus. Tangerine marmalade. Whisper of tropical fruits and pink grapefruit. Smooth finish leaves a tingling hop spicy linger. Great breadth and depth. All elements singing in harmony. Could drink gallons of this.

Deadication brew to George Vancouver, the English explorer who has a river, island, mountain and city named after him in Canada, died on this day in 1798. A suitable historic style then and although the porter is quite regular in design it's done very well. Light milky roasted notes that linger, feeling a tad toasted in its aftertaste.

Taste comprises orange zest, grapefruit, light breads, melon.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close laced with balanced juicy hop bitterness.
Solid cask IPA.

Cask at The Colmore, Brum. Aroma is malty, roasty. Light coffee. Cola brown..Thick foamy beige head. Light coffee with a light berry streak. Light-medium bodied..slick but thin. Average carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Decent enough.

Found a couple of established Low Countries' empties on the table for this unusual 'English' style tripel, and it is - with an almost medicinal strength-infused flavour, but it does nod to the more familiar Belgian style even with its sticky-sweetness
