Description
Founded by Luc Lepennetier, the Brasserie de la Paumell is located in the Gallo country in Val-Couesnon in Ille-et-Vilaine, on the border of the Marches of Brittany. It is housed in a former family farm.
"Paumell" means "barley," a cereal essential for beer making. The brewery has been open since August 1, 2014, and brews English-style beers revisited in a Breton style. Unpasteurized and unfiltered, they are refermented in bottles to preserve all their aromas. This authenticity is felt in every sip, a characteristic you're sure to appreciate.

Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#65. PONTORSON. Last beer before a tremendous Friday night thunderstorm and downpour. Full-bodied pleasant beer in the palate, with a gentle appealing hoppiness.

Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#68. PONTORSON. Bought next door to a working flour windmill. Deeper golden with plenty of strength, but its sweetened hoppy taste with plenty of sugars is really appealing. It's a tad more boozy in aroma but this matters little.

Bottle from somewhere in France consumed at home Sunday 16th July 2017 whilst making a base curry sauce for future curry meals. Murky amber with a scummy off white head. Not really sure that this is an American Pale Ale but that is what the label says, the label is interesting its predominantly purple with what looks like a stoat or weasel on the front. A touch of lemon in what comes across as more of a tangy bitter or amber beer, it’s ok and I drank it all but not a big fan. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Bottled 330ml (from France)
Hazy orange-amber color, small steady white head. Musty, cellary aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Some mango and orange fruityness, but otherwise quite dry and earthy. Watery finish with light grassy hops. Simple.

Hazy amber color, small steady white head. Aroma is stale/musty, some old hay. Light-bodied. Light orange jam, grass and wood. Bitterness is quite low and it’s not too fruity either. BB 05/2017 so not too old and in the ok condition, just boring.
