12 oz twist off bottle, purchased as a single at the Four Firkins in St Louis Park, Minnesota. Brewed and packaged by Stevens Point Brewery. The pour is mostly clear copper, some brown and red. One inch light tan head is reasonably lasting, leaves nice lacing. The aroma is pretty faint, its a slightly metallic malt, along with a sort of generic bitter earthy hop. Not an off nose, necessarily, just a bit dull. The taste follows the nose, metallic malt, generic grain malt sweetness, bit of honey, along with the earthy hop of the nose. Some pine peaks out as it warms. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, and a moderately dry finish. The after taste has a bit more of the metallic malt. As with the Lonely Blond, I would love to give this another shot from their own brewery. I will reserve full judgement until then.

The pour is clear golden with a ton of carbonation bubbles and a noisy one inch white head. The aroma is mild citrus sweet along with toasty cracker malt. A tiny hint of floral honey as well. The taste is grainy sweet malt, artificial citrus fruit sweetness, along with a bit of cardboard mid taste which becomes more pronounced in the finish. The cardboard was strongest in the first sip, though it remains throughout the beer. The aftertaste is dry, a bit dirty mineral and pretty unclean. The palate is light bodied, decent amount of fine carbonation, and the dirty finish. I will happily try this again when they take production in house.

Draft at Burger Jones. This was a tasty beer, though not nearly so hoppy as one might expect from an IPA. Nice malty sweetness to help balance things out. It went very well with my burger.

ABR 2010. I liked this. Tons of malt aroma and grainy, malt flavor on the palate with bread. Just a light hint of roast. The rye gives a very light sourness. Red/brown color.

Tasted at The Beer Dabbler, summer 2010, St. Paul, MN. A small step up from the regular beer. I don’t taste or smell the grapefruit, but I do detect more hops with this infusion, giving it a lightly spiced quality.

A decent first attempt. Roasted grain in the aroma, with alcohol. A few flavors common to imperial stouts, moderately roasted grain, some chocolate, and a little soy sauce. Oily texture on the tongue, and the alcohol presence is clear in the aroma and the flavor. Palate is a little thin compared to the better examples.

On tap at Stub & Herbs. Poured a clear amber with a thin white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma had a nice combination of citrus and pine with a hint of a grassiness. Flavor was had much more of a sweet grain present with some pine and citrus hops.
