Upon their return to Burlington, Bob and Alan began their search for a space to call their own. That search landed them in an abandoned factory on Flynn Avenue in Burlington’s South End, where Bob would finally brew Bob’s First, Magic Hat’s debut ale and, soon after, the first batches of #9, Fat Angel and Blind Faith.
Admin Note: In July 2020, Magic Hat sold their production facility and broke ties with the state of Vermont. All beers are brewed at the FIFCO owned Genesee Brewing facility in Rochester, NY.

Tap at the brewpub. Special seasonal beer im told. Clear golden pour, small white head. Great hoppy aroma, lots of citrus, especially lemon zest. Solid mouthfeel, and good carb. Finish is antad sweet from the extra honey, and the wheat comes through and adds slme great cereals, and malta to mkngle with the solid hops. Super drinkable and incredibly refreshing.

Quite yeasty, with a good dose of wheat. Some briht fruit with a rich sweetness added by the elderberry, it really adds a juicy sweetness that is quite welcome. There is a light tartness in the finish, that balances the sweetness very well. Nice stuff.

Opaque black, beige head.
Lots f burnt/roasted malt, light piney hops. Bitter cocoa, coffee, minimal hops. This is more of a hoppy porter or stout than a black ipa. Ot hoppy enough.
