In 1810, the Eibau brewery was established by the Zittau brewing community.
The location of Eibau was confirmed by King Friedrich August I (1806-1827 King of Saxony) as the first rural brewery in the Zittau area. Since then, beer has been brewed here in the heart of the Upper Lausitz.

16.9 oz. can from the Costco 2025 German Biergarten Collection. Pours a clear gold color with a white head and very good retention. Great lacing too. Bready malt aroma. The taste follows the nose, with lots of bready malt flavor throughout. Nothing unique here, but a good example of the style. Smooth, clean, and lightly sweet. Medium body. Medium-light carbonation. Low bitterness. Nice beer.

Costco box: pours light clear gold with a white head. Aroma is grassy, light honey, hints of grass. Light bitterness. Low sweetness. Tad industrial. Generally solid.

Can from Costco: pours brown with a light beige head. Aroma is light caramel, toast, some dark fruitiness. Not too sweet, but on the sweeter side. Low bitterness. A little chewy. Not bad.
