Can from Total Wines, my second new rate on the June/July 2024 holiday in Southern California. Drank on 14th June at my daughters place. Light haze in the golden body, white crown on top. No way is this a Hefeweizen nor a true Weissbier, it's a crossover and doesn't really sit as a blond or golden beer either. Anyway, I liked the soft mouthfeel and it's semi-sweet flavours, there are traces of clove and wheat within if you search for them. Nice!

500 ml can from Total Wine - Daytona. Pours a hazy gold color with a bright white head and great retention. Good, scattered lacing. Standard pale malt aroma. Pretty standard pale lager flavor too. I don’t think I would have identified this as a Dortmunder beer. Just a good beer. Medium body. Medium carbonation. No bitterness. Prost!

500 ml can from Total Wine - Las Vegas. Pours a very dark brown color with dark ruby highlights and a large, tight khaki head with excellent retention. Very good lacing too. Dark malt aroma. Sweet dark malt and dark bread flavor, matching the nose. Simple profile, and really good. Super clean and smooth. Medium-light body. Low carbonation. Zero bitterness. Prost!

Pounder can total wine. Pours hazy pale with a white head. Clean fresh beery nose, no sign of hefe in teh olfactory. First big swig is pretty good wit! Mind you, does not really taste like a hefe, but its more like a witbier! Not sure how this got styled as a hefe, it certainly does not taste like one. Yes, this is a wit and nice white tasting brew. If anything, on the label of this brew it says blond! So it must be something like blond or golden, no? Well as a wit, its right up there with allagash white. As a blond it rates like Breckenridge Resolution. Yea, not a hefe baby! No bubblegum banana or coriander in this stuff. Just a decent fun easy lovin beer. Not a 4/5 but a very good brew. Finishes like a goodie! Ends with a feeling like I need another can. You'd never know this is over 5%, it drinks like a 4%.

Big 17 oz bottle from total wine. Pour is clear pale with a white head. Nose is almost nuetral. First taste is odd aged euro pils, can't find a date code, may be an old bottle. Decent level of carbonation up front. Yea, in the middle the aged effect takes a bigger hold on the taste buds, even tho I don't get any skunk on the nose. As I live thru the session, towards the end, it tends lean towards the taste of a sortah aged old can of macro pale lager that's been setting on the shelf for a while. Oh well. One good thing going for it is that it never gets too bitter.

Big 17 0z can for 2 bucks. Pour is pretty looking yellow with a decent creamy head. Nose is just a little cabbage like, with a little metal, something you get from clear or green bottle if it's from the old country noble hops, kindah odd. First taste is reminiscent of the old country pils, sharper back of throat pilsner bite and feel. Yes, not as civilized as I was expecting but it's not bad. Could drink a couple of these. Toward the end of the session that pils bitter bite keeps coating the back of my throat on my tongue and does become a little annoying, fer sher. Pretty good co2 to the end.

From a 17 oz $3 can absconded from total wine, this stuff pours clear pale. Nose is off lager, perhaps a hint of mild farmy rotting corn if you really search for it in the olfactory. Not sure, maybe its just my majination, runnen way wit me. First taste its trying to be a sharp pils but never quite gets there. Its the impression of a straight macro american pale lager with a mild attempt at some pointed pils bitterness. Yet it remains quite friendly in a macro kind of way. Goes down pretty easy, and has a decent attitude about itself. In the middle this stuff is growing on me. Its smooth carbonation comes across as refreshing. Almost soothing in its own way. Towards the end, a little of that processed feel starts to creep in with that odd pils bitter bite. Almost gets annoying, but does not achieve total annoyance before the can comes to an end.

From a big 17 oz bottle labeled as Dunkler Bock, procured at total wine. It looks a darker brown and a little hazy, can't really see thru it. A mild somewhat sweet nose, maybe some roasted caramel? Taste is a mild darker beer, considering the alky content, it hides the alky well. I'm kindah diggen this because I was expecting something more baltic and ruder in nature. Smooth for a bock, even for a dunkle bock. Woe, you'd never know this is close to 7%, no lie. Its quite smooth and I guess its from the big old country germy in saxon, I guess it meets the character of the country. Nice job on this one special class leepy! Yea, could easily drink 2 more of these pounder plus bottles. Glad I found this, never saw it before. I almost passed it by for 3$ but I'm not disappointed. Right up there with Block House Double Chocolate Bock, Schell Caramel, toasted bock & 1888, Shiner bock, Otter Creek Mud Bock Spring Ale & Yuengling Bock Beer.
