Description
Wasserhund Brewing Company, meaning "water dog" in German, was born from a love of the beach, dogs, and German beer. We aspire to bring the German beer culture to Virginia Beach in the best way... by brewing the highest quality ales and lagers and providing the environment to enjoy them with family, friends, and just good company. We also match our beer with artisan pizza made to order in our brick oven. Or you can order beer sausages and add some sauerkraut for a real German experience. Call it whatever you want... we call it German style brewing with a Beach kick. Really, it's great beer and great times. Prost!

Very chunky and hazy deep copper and bronze coloured body with a very thick, five centimetre tall rich tan head that stays afloat for a long time, over the murky, 95 per cent opaque body. Aroma of stone fruits, apricot, some deep hop pellets with a light bitterness along with a pretty strong biscuity and deep bready maltiness - in the nose, at least. Medium to Full-bodied; Rich stone fruit, apricot, peach and melony flavours dominate, with some big support from the rich yeast and malt flavours here, with some noticeable dry and grassy flavours, but the hops and especially stone fruits - show strongest. Aftertaste shows the rich fruits with apricots and melons adding to the deep, slightly rustic malts to make this rich, full-bodied and full-of-character, with a light hop bitterness and ending with an enjoyable sweetness that rises above the hops, but isn't cloying at all. Overall, rich and pungent, not so easy-drinking, but that's okay, considering the malt, hops and fruit notes here. Nice to try, local-ish and very fresh! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Newport News, Virginia on 20-November-2022 for US$4,29 sampled at my house here in Washington on 05-December-2022.

Bright muddied pink and light ruby coloured body with a nice, pink and rose coloured thinnish, one centimetre tall tan head that covers the more muddied glow below. Aroma of very soft, dry berry notes with blackberries, blueberries and some dry herbal notes as well with a faint kick of lactobilly notes as well, but seemingly light. Medium-bodied; Strong dry and very berry-y flavours dominate with a light grassiness and some mellow wheat notes here, without much else aside from a thin layer of sugars from fructose and also some tartness from the fruits, without any real brine/salt here. Aftertaste is clean, but very dry, slightly floral and a touch tart, but not showing much malt/wheat, any salt/brine and only a touch of sweetness, too from the fruits. Overall, decent enough, but much more of perceived Berliner Weiss rather than a gose to me, since I didn't see/taste any saltiness at all here; Still nice to try and not a bad option at all, considering the season and heat here in the Mid-Atlantic - nice to sample, almost one full year after purchase! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Wegman's [grocery] in Virginia Beach (VA Beach Boulevard), Virginia on 13-June-2021 for US$1,99 (part of a mixed six pack), sampled at my house here in Washington on 15-June-2022.

Nose is orange zest, caramel malts, light pine, biscuit. Taste comprises caramel malts, pine nip, grapefruit, grass, orange peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close spiked with grassy hop bitterness. Tidy enough old skool IPA.
