About
Inspired by norse mythology, 3 ravens tells the story of an unlikely trio: hugin, munin & jack. Hugin and munin were ravens loyal to the god odin who were sent on a quest to find the secret to human happiness. Jack, the third raven was sent by loki to rattle ’em with riddles. The three ravens forming to combine sight, knowledge and creativity to concoct a magic potion is much like our own story: a group of friends—banding together in their thornbury basement—to create unique australian beers.

This is a disappointing beer from a great brewer. There are pleasant aromas of passionfruit, pineapple, grapefruit and a bit of bread, but the palate is very thin - there's very little backbone at all.

From a 440ml can on 30/11/2018. Pours a clearish deep golden with a small head. Has quite a pungent citrus and tropical fruit aroma. On the sip, it features some light caramel and biscuit malt, some lime, peach and melon. Has a reasonably firm resiny bitterness which finishes off proceedings. The texture is slick and the carbonation moderate. It does drink kinda heavy. Not bad, but it didn't quite win me over.

Can. Brown with a beige head. Aroma of vanilla and caramel syrup. Smells like Cottee's ice cream topping (and I'm not a toddler). But then it somehow keeps doing that _and_ tastes like beer - a pleasant and not excessively sweet amber ale. Decent, bitter enough finish.

From a 375ml can on 3/9/2018. Pours a cloudy light golden with a biggish white head. Has a light passionfruit and peach nose, with the flavour also passionfruit, peach and some pear. Features a very mild bitterness which sets off the sweet fruit well. Medium bodied with moderate to average carbonation. Nothing flash or unusual - just a really solid, enjoyable NEIPA.

From a 330ml bottle on 11/8/2018. Pours a deep golden/light amber with a smallish head. The nose is sweet and very malty, featuring toffee and brown sugar. The flavour is similarly malty - again some toffee and brown sugar, with some caramel and stewed fruit. It does have a relatively firm, slightly tart bitterness, giving it a quite herbal finish. The texture is slick and the carbonation softish. An enjoyable malty sipper.
