Draft from growler. I got the growler for a party, and it got warm by the time I poured it; then they ran out before I could try a fresh sample. But what I had was pretty nice: malty, of course, and a little bit grainy. Good Okto color that would fit in well with fall colors if it were served later in the year. A warmer sample brings up some more good German bitterness.

I had this on cask at RB Yorktown, and then sampled the draft version. Quite a difference. I focus on the cask since that was the larger portion: Really smooth look, but the mouthfeel is a little too smooth. I’m told this cask was just put on the day I tried it, so it may need to sit a little more. Dark brown color which I could not see through, under a frothy tan head. The taste is hard to pick out, but that’s a hallmark of this style, wot. I get some ale fruitiness and some yeasty afterbite. The hops in the cask draw are very subdued. It leaves a milky aftertaste.
Now the draft version has a bit more going for it: it takes better to some CO2, and shows more of the subtle but supportive English hop profile. Despite the color (and description), I just catch very lightly roasted pale ale malts. Still, I’d this beer works best on regular draft.

Mug Club draft. More of a nice, cloudy orange than the nearly white I’ve found with other draft wits. A nice clean wheat beer smell with threads of orange zest. Problem is they served me a glass that they had in an ice cooler, so it was served too cold. I lost any complexity the beer might have had, but did enjoy it as a nice, light wheaty beer with that orange again, and perhaps some grains of paradise. As the beer warmed up toward the end, I also got a bit of lemon to it, too.

Mug Club Draft. Muddy dark brown in color. A nice nitro swirl of tiny bubbles, under a half-inch ecru head. Smell is very light cocoa with hints of mild coffee. Taste has all the texture of a nitro oatmeal stout, not quite velvety, more a velour. Light vanilla and a slight Guinness sourness in the finish. No alcohol burn makes this an easy beer for lunch; I had mine with chili.

RB Mug Club draft. Yay! I get to pop the cap on this new place. Golden yellow pils color in this big glass mug. Tends toward a brassy yellow. A thin head coats the sides of the glass as it goes down. Pretty standard pilsener smell, but that’s what you expect from this style. Taste is pretty decent, crisp malts and a Boho hop profile that’s pretty sharp, and leaves a nice bitter aftertaste. Substantial mouthfeel.
