Deep dark porter with moka head. Lightly smoked chocolate and coffee beans in aroma. Richer and more complex than the oatmeal stout, with nice acidic points, from roasted malts. Medium bodied. On tap March 2005.

Hazy red amber ale with a thin white ale. Sweet vinous malt with nice floral hops and bubblegum and citrus. Nice sweet malt with good British hops, lingering in mouth. Sweet raisins in rhum. Oily mouthfeel and medium bodied. On tap March 2005.

Very dark brown - like a porter. Aroma is aggressive, complex roast, chocolate. Body is perhaps a little thin, and the English hops show a bit too much in the finish, but decent development of malt flavours as listed above make it worthwhile.

Black colour; thin light brown head. Aroma of roasted barley, tempered by light molasses, plus raisins, and faint esters (red currant?). Slightly oily, slightly creamy body. Mellow fruity-toffee maltiness predominates with just a hint of roasty tang. A little bit of lemony, peachy hop comes in late.

Orange colour. Deep raspberry extract aroma. Fairly standard – slightly tart body cut by cloying raspberry syrup notes. The beer underneath is scarcely perceptible. Good thing I was thirsty.

Golden colour. Aroma has lots of raspberry – dirty line perhaps? The curse of a one beer rating. If nobody else talks about raspberry you’ll want to discount that…I pretty much did in my rating, except that I liked the raspberry note in the aroma. The raspberry isn’t so noticeable in the palate, which is fairly sweet and mostly pale malts. There is faint backing bitterness, but not much. Vaguely earthy, bready overall. It is hard to rate that aroma though, but I’ll give it a three because I like the berries. It might not be that high in real life.

Golden-bronze with slight haze. Curranty, lightly limey, kumquaty hops in the aroma. Citric hop body, light toastiness, crisp bitterness. Well-balanced. Good show, Lorne, I didn't catch you the two times I dropped by but it's good to see you're still rockin' Down East.
