Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Clear bright orange color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and slight hops. Light-bodied with a strong malty character and notes of hops and fruit in the background. The finish is sweet with a roasted malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can poured into a weizen glass. Pours clear gold with medium white head. Aroma is malty, medium/light body, low carbonation, and some big bubble lacing. Taste is simple malt. Not a hoppy American wheat, just a simple malty beer.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent hazy orange looking color with a slight transparency about it that allowed a fair carbonation to be seen rising.
There was less than a finger’s worth of head.
The smell was based around some light sweet pine with just a tad of light sweet caramel malt.
The taste was mainly sweet around the piney hops and sweet caramel malts.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. There’s nothing off and there’s nothing spectacular about it.
Overall, an everyday APA worthy of having again and would probably be a pretty good pizza beer.

Draft. Murky golden body with a frothy white head. Aroma of raw grain, lemon, citrus, resin. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/sticky texture, lively carbonation. Citrus notes overwhelmed in the taste by dry/raw grain and then bitterness.

Draft. Deep brown body with an off-white head. Malty aroma of caramel, molasses, cookie, nuts. Light floral note. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Mostly sweet malts in the taste, though lingering bitterness helps cut that in the finish. Some raw graininess. Enjoyable.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is a nice wheat malt with maybe some lemon. Flavor is again dry wheat malt with a decent little hop kick to it toward the end. This is not just another boring wheat ale.
