Can. Corn and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with giant head. Sweet corn/barley malt, hay and mildly bitter herbal flavor. Okay.

Clear gold with a light ring of lace - not much carbonation to speak of in the body - crisp maltiness and a fairly snappy mineral kick in the nose, along with some lightly pungent hoppiness - light body - a light froth in the mouth, but it really needs more lively carbonation, as it is mostly kind of limp in that department - flavor is nice - crisp, crackery malts, followed by light honey pils maltiness, spicy hops, and a light mineral bite on the tail end - it’s a solid recipe that needs somewhat better execution and higher carbonation.

Pours a dark reddish brown - a solidly made dunkel - roasted nuts, toffee, and dark bread throughout, with balancing a acidity, mild bitterness, and an earthy, leafy character - full, creamy texture - crusty pumpernickel finish - solid.

Dark, though not opaque, deep ebony with some magenta highlights on the edges and a small beige head with moderate to low retention.
Not a whole lot to be gleaned from the nose...I get some black pepper, moderate booziness and spicy vanilla notes, all coming with a good deal of work. Maybe a touch of chocolate-peanut brittle? With more warming, it does offer up a little more sweet maltiness (chocolate, raisins, more vanilla) but the complexities seem to be rather lacking here.
The flavor is not holding back on the peppers and immediately the heat hits the back of your throat drying things quite well, and compounded by the crackery like biscuit and dark malts. Not overly sweet, thankfully, though there is a persistent vanilla-cream like flavor that dosent quite stand up to the chocolate and pepper. The sweetness is fleeting, leaving in its place not as much of a dry, malty flavor, so much as a dearth of real flavor. Aside from the pepper and chocolate, the malt seems stretched very thin. Mouthfeel straddles the line from being somewhat soft, to a touch watery, while the booziness is mostly in check here. Again, more of a novelty spice/herb/vegetable beer, though the lighter/waterier body and lighter maltiness actually make it somewhat drinkable, if you like chili beers. Finishes with some chalkiness/blandness that I’m unsure the source of.

Not much head to speak of. White cluster of bubbles runs for the edges. Clear waxy-yellow looking body is well-carbonated.
Clean, at least, is the nose. Very little hop character to speak of, but I guess that’s what they’re going for. Maybe a touch of pepperiness. Mostly just white bread sugars from the malt. Touch of vanilla light mineral.
Fairly watery, again mostly clean, with some waxiness and vanilla that are perhaps a bit unwanted but none of the majors offenders of the style; dms, diacetyl, acetaldehyde, etc...Well-attenuated and certainly quite drinkable. I guess I was expecting something a little more characterful from Capital, since their other beers are so delicious, but this is what it’s billed as and you can’t fault it for that.

bottle, very old notes - Pours light copper-amber with a quickly fading one finger head. It has a mild hoppy aroma. The flavor is sweet malt with a little caramel and perhaps a touch of citrus. It’s bland and not very crisp. Mediocre to average beer.

Bottle. Sweet brown bread barley malt aroma. Clear dark brown with a very large beige head. Toasty brown bread/barley malt flavor with a light bitter finish. Medium body, soft carbonation.
