Description
In 1984, we were the first craft brewers in Ontario. With a dedication to precision, detail and pure ingredients, we were – and still are – making the kind of beer we’d choose to drink ourselves. As Ontario’s first craft brewer, we look back to the past with pride and are excited for the future.

I thought this to be an ok beer, but not much more than that. This DEFINITELY NEEDS MORE IBU'S no questions asked. if it did so, the nice even tones and medium body would give this beer a great flavor. Has a nice rosy, hoppy aroma and a deep red color to it. Had a very floral taste, not much maltiness.

Very sweet, with a sticky finish. Simplistic profile shows just sweet caramel and faint honey. Amber colour, light body.

Just a little re-rate for those of you who will soon be receiving this...the 2001 is quite smooth, and the palate a little richer than last year's...and the following notes still stand. This is bordering on doppelbock status, and kind of reminds me of the late, great Brasal Bock...Rich in malty-fruity character with accompanying notes of molasses, smoke, and burnt cherries and a touch of balancing hop, finishing long and malty. Kind of washes over you. For those of us lucky enough to get it in quantity, two or three will set you up right.
