Description
United Dutch Breweries in Breda was created when the Belgian Interbrew closed the Breda Oranjeboom brewery in 2004, which it had taken over in 1995. Oranjeboom's export department carried out a management buy-out and continued independently with Oranjeboom's brand portfolio, which was acquired from Interbrew. The beers are not brewed anymore in Breda but elsewhere.

Sampled at Hopscotch 2023, pours a dark brown with an amber tinge and a small beige head. Aroma has toasted bready malt, caramel malt, and a touch of dark dried fruits. Lots of toasted caramel and dark fruits on the finish. The yeast doesn't seem exactly dialed in right but it's not bad.

Sampled at Hopscotch 2023, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has lots of banana esters, light clove, and bubblegum — doesn't smell authentic or proper. Flavour is estery but not sweet, with banana, clove, and lightly sweet biscuity malt. Seems more like a hefeweizen with these esters. Not terrible but not on point.
