Description
United Dutch Breweries in Breda was created when the Belgian Interbrew closed the Breda Oranjeboom brewery in 2004, which it had taken over in 1995. Oranjeboom's export department carried out a management buy-out and continued independently with Oranjeboom's brand portfolio, which was acquired from Interbrew. The beers are not brewed anymore in Breda but elsewhere.

500ml can from Home Bazargains, Inverurie. This edition is 6.5%. It pours crystal clear golden - blonde with a decent fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, doughy white bread, grain, cereal, nutty, perfumed, estery, melon, pear drops, crunchy green apple and hob nob biscuits. The taste is dryish upfront, not much sweetness actually, grassy/leafy bitterness, estery fruits, melon, pear, apple, hob nob biscuits, toasty grain, cereal, sponge cake and prickly alcohol with dry cereal finish. Light to Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Not as bad as the ratings suggests. Drinks fine and not an issue to chug the can.

Good, dense, ever so slightly yellowish head over pale yellow beer with a greenish sheen. Herbal hops' nose, citric acid, lemonsweets, lime syrup for adding. Quite bitter, metallic - not in the least seen hardly anything else present. Some lemon-lime in the background, and hints at white candi sugar. Finish is dry-metallic. Warming up, stale cookies. Light body, spritzy to fizzy carbonation, slick with some hopoils. Aftertaste sports a raw, unwelcome earthy streak. Typical Megabrew. Craft my a... sorry. Txs to Stef!

Thuis uit een blikje van de AH. Licht troebel geel, snel verdwijnend schuim. Licht hoppig aroma. Smaak fris, vlak, maar voor de zomer lekker doordrinkbaar. Lage score beetje onterecht. Geen topper, maar ook met die abv niet slecht.

[75cl bottle from B&M, Reading.] A clear amber pour with a ring of white head; rich aroma of caramel and cloves; spritzy in the mouth with a grainy body and some herbs; then a gentle caramel finish. A beer to be savoured slowly.

Can 500 ml. Light golden, clear white foam. Aroma: slightly sour, grassy hops, malt cookies. Taste: a little sweet, malt, cookies, a little cardboard and sourness, a little corn sticks, sad brew.

33 cl can picked up at a COOP 365 discounter for 10 DDK poured into a Snifter. Clear amber golden colour with a thin white head. Sweet aroma with pale malts, herbal earthy notes. The taste is light sweet. Medium body. Slightly drying sweet finish. Poorly executed, no hops whatsoever.

Can 33 cl. Pours a pale yellow with a slight haze and a small, white head. Slightly tart, lemony nose. Medium body, sweet malty with flowery hops. Some bitterness. Feels more like a hoppy Lager. 090623

33cl Blik van AH. Mistig diepgouden kleur, witte kraag. Moutig, oude koekjes, licht hoppig, licht fruitig, degelijk bitter. Iets hoog in koolzuur. Niet echt verfrissend en mist hop voor een goede SIPA.
