750ml courtest of the sloval sniper. Nice fruity, funky aroma, the kriek is quite subtle, but the funky, barnyard aromas are very present. The carb is quite active, and the mouth feel is very lively. There is what seems to be a strong mineral finish mixed in with the funk. The tartness dies out quickly, and the fruit is nowhere to be found in the end. Good, but not great.

Great dry grassy hops! Lots of great lemon, grass, and some pine. Sharp bitter finish, really a super refreshing ale.

750ml murky brown, tan head. Nose is nice and malt. Toasty. Flavor has some yeast but also all the malt. Nice and chewy. Well balanced and an ode to the original. 7 4 7 5 14

Bottle shared at the DCBeer February share. Poured a dark, murky brown color with a small tan head. Aroma was light bitter coffee. Roasted malt. Chocolate, earthy hop. Light herbal, yeast. Really well made.

"De Ranke XXX Bitter", Flasche von Jef - vielen Dank! - Dunkelgoldgelb, nur anfangs klar. - In der Nase sehr aromatische aber gebremste zitronige Hopfung, leicht mediterran-herbal, leise belgische Hefe, ein Hauch von Honig. - Antrunk füllig hellmalzig und intensiv zitronenschalig und grasig hopfenherb. Weich perlend rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang dichte, ja wuchtige aber doch gedämpfte zitrusfruchtige Bittere. - Deutlich anders als das knackig bittere XX, konzentrierter hopfenaromatisch und doch dezent belgisch. Große Klasse! "De Ranke Vieille Provision (2022)", 75-cl-Flasche von Jef - thanks a lot! - Kupferrot, klar; dürftige Schaum. - In der Nase heftige, schwere Lambic-Aromen über Resten mächtiger Malzigkeit und wuchtige, durch Altersnoten gedämpfte zitrusfruchtige Hopfenbittere. - Im Antrunk enorm massives Lambic, weich essigsäuerlich mit sauren roten Beeren, Pferdedecke, Kellerluft und Bauernhof, Reste von Orangenmarmelade und massive aber gedämpfte pampelmusige Herbe. Dennoch weich und rund. Mild rezent. Im Abgang mild holzig herb mit Gerbsäure und deutlichen Altersnoten. - Lambic in konzentrierter Form - sozusagen ein Lambic-Doppelbock. Trotz extremer Aromatik ausgereift und ein Hochgenuß, freilich nur in kleinen Schlucken. (18.2.2025.)

Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sottobosco. L'intensità olfattiva è normale e il modo in cui permane è sufficiente. Il manto birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma dalla buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana medio-fine. La carbonazione è abbondante. Il liquido è di aspetto opalescente e anche qui la grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine, con carbonazione allegra e vivace. Il colore è giallo dorato carico. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è deciso. La forza gustativa è elevata e la permanenza è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il finale è amarognolo, pulito e complesso. Il retrogusto è intenso. L'aroma in bocca porta i segni di miele, crosta di pane, frutta secca, luppolo, resina, agrumi, frutta passita, uvetta bagnata nel rum e caldo.

Bottiglia. Il gusto al naso resta attratto dallo speziato e sensazioni di vegetazione. L'intensità olfattiva è elevata e la maniera in cui permane è apprezzabile. Il mantello birroso superiore ha una buona tenuta, con schiuma abbondante. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana medio-fine. Il liquido è di consistenza limpida. La frizzantezza si presenta sotto forma di perlage dalle bollicine medio-fini e spinte da una velocità di ascesa morbida. Il colore è giallo dorato carico. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è deciso. La forza gustativa è elevata e la permanenza è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. In bocca l'aroma è quello di miele, frutta secca, luppolo, un accenno di resinoso quasi balsamico, agrumi e frutta passita.

Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di amaro. Il retrogusto è intenso. Il tetto della bocca riconosce impressioni di miele, crosta di pane, luppolo, resina, spezie, agrumi e pepe bianco.
