About
L'Alsacienne was born in 1995 in a legendary bar-restaurant in Mulhouse, Le Gambrinus. More than twenty years later, thanks to the dynamism of Christophe Griessmann, beer is being sold to other corners of the planet. Alsacienne recipes only use top quality malt and hops, the yeast in the bottle comes from the refermentation after packaging. Their wide range of beers, strong as a whole, refermented in the bottle, consists of white, dark, blonde and seasonal beers, but always of quality.

# 3752; 8/2023. Liquorice, fruity, caramel aroma. Clear brown body; tany persistant head. Fruity, caramely, liquorice, alcohol warmth. Very good belgian style dark strong ale. 0,33 l, bottle, Witthenheim (Alsace, France).

clear darker golden colour, medium sized dense ecru-ish white head; aroma and taste of fruitiness (apple sauce mainly),slight marmalade and caramel notes; well, the label is obviously a pro...otherwise there are some cons, which should not be ignored just because of the label ;) not bad, but not a top notch amber lager, for sure

opalescent pale yellow colour, moderate sized dense white head; aroma of lemony, lemon zesty, coriander and some wheaty notes; taste has the same notes with some honey; quite good one - but obviously the label on the bottle makes me a bit biased ;)

27.08.2020 - 0.33l bottle at home, bb 28.01.2017. pours a clear pale amber with a small head. aroma of stale malts, spices, caramel. flavour of caramel, booze, pinecone jam, sweetish and quite bitter finish. should try it fresh.

Deep dark brown colour wirh reddish hue, huge creamy beige head; aroma of prune, burnt sugary-caramel notes, anise and hints of licorice; taste of burned cake filled with plum jam, anise, some roasted nuts, syrupy notes and some spicy alcohol; good one

hazy golden to orange colour, minimal off-white head, which disappears quickly leaving back only some lacing; aroma and taste of honeycomb toffee,, grape (peels and sweet juice), Belgian yeasty-wine cellary notes and some dried apricot; quite enjoyable

Clear medium golden colour, huge rocky white head, dissipates slowly, patchy lacing. Aroma sweet malts, Belgian yeast, caramel, light peach. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, toffee, peachy, spicy notes. Sweet aftertaste, yeasty, fruity and spicy notes. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, average carbonation, not bad but very middle of the road Belgian ale.

Pours brown from the bottle. The frothy head soon fades. Aroma is a mix of orange, cherry, and Christmas spices. Taste is sweet, bready, with fruity undertones and a lightly spicy bite at the end. Body is medium, carbonation is prickly. Decent stuff but a bit too sweet for more than half a bottle.
