Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 7C). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L03414. AROMA: moderately sweet malty background aroma with some fruity esters reminiscent of grapes. some background DMS present. low floral hop aromas. APPEARANCE: dark amber color and somewhat clear. thin and moussy ivory head with low retention. TASTE: low malt flavours with some floral hop notes. medium-low bitterness leading into a dry finish. some cereal hull flavors. PALATE: thin body with low carbonation. some astringency. OVERALL: a poor altbier example that needs much improvement.
