6-pack, Best Before 02/28/26, drunk December 2025, as pictured.
Not really kolschy. Maybe a bit? Definitely some sweet barley, light vanilla and a dearth of hops. Clean enough, though, with minimal wortiness.
Clean and light-bodied, not thin or seltzery. Minimal hop. Lots of hay, biscuit, sweet barley and mineral water. But no kolsch.
In the flavor it's similar. I want there to be Kolsch yeast character, but I really can't find it. Just a fine golden ale. Sweeter, though relative to NA beers, quite fine. Clean and not worty. Could use more hop.

6 pack Best Before 02/16/2026, drunk December 2025, as pictured.
Fruity hops with some hay/straw/grass in the background. Both amply malty and hoppy and it's just a light, golden lager. Shocking. Quite clean, as well, with some floral character lingering.
Of the four 6-packs I got this order (this, Choco Dark, Oktoberfest, Super Kolsch), this was by far the best of them. Closest to an actual beer, with ample body, good malt character (hay, biscuit, cracker, sweet barley) and reasonable attenuation. The fact that they've (more or less) well-hopped a light, golden lager is impressive, as well.

6 pack Best Before 10/25/2026, drunk December 2025, as pictured.
Quite hazy, which is odd and probably not desirable.
Hops are at least apparent, showing mild floral characteristics, but are quickly overcome by a rather sugary toffee and caramel character. Nothing much resembling lager/lager yeast. Bit of woody toastiness to attempt some balance.
Sweet indeed. I get wanting to be a malty oktoberfest, but this is just underfermented sugar, unfortunately. Clean, though, and with a hint of hop, a hint of toast and lots of sweet caramel and toffee. Not as bad as my rating suggests, and it is drinkable, but needs a lot of work (most of which being significantly more attenuation).

6 pack, Best Before 030826, drunk December '25, as pictured.
Along the lines of Sam Smith's Chocolate Stout. That actual, milk chocolatey character without gross syrupy-sweetness or artificiality. Some mousey lactose and very low roast. Could use more roast to balance....
Sweet up front with lactose and mild milk chocolate. Very minimal roast with lactic acidity on the finish and a medium-light body. Just severely lacking in roastiness which would really help balance here and add some depth of flavor. Sweet, milky, chocolatey, touch syrupy. All of that exacerbates the NA nature of this instead of hiding it, as the roast would.

On tap at PAYETTE Brewings second annual final Black Friday dark beer event. Very sweet and chocolaty like a chocolate cake should be. Lots of sugar and lots of ABV. Delicious dessert beer.
