Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is brown malt, caramel, some dried fruits, notes of raisins and brown sugar. Flavour is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is thin to medium. Sweet Bock, lacks some refinement.

Sample thanks to Grumbo. Quite a murky muddy looking beer. Strange yeasty sweetness coming through on the nose and to taste. Looks infected but taste isn't that bad, no terrible off flavours, obviously yeast-forward with doughy blonde impressions, smooth palate. Just not sure it's supposed to look like that

25/1/2022. Bottle courtesy of Miquelli, cheers. Region #370, completing the Provinces of the Netherlands. Pours hazy dark golden amber with a small lasting frothy white head. Aroma is big, boozy, malty, grain, biscuit, stewed fruits, rough metallic edge. Moderate sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Doesn't do anything whatsoever to try to hide it's abv. Kind of warmed to it.

One of these first careful beers made by a 'bierfirma' in Lelystad; got this bottle from the local Mitra shop there, but with a different label now only mentioning Red Polder Ale. Slow gusher, but manageable. Very thick and foamy, bubbly, cobweb-lacing, egg-white, stable and frothy head on a lightly hazy deep amber-hued orange blonde beer, turning deeper amber-orange and mistier with sediment. Aroma of evident carbon dioxide (like a freshly opened bottle of artificially carbonated water), quickly making room for the actual bouquet of ripe peach, soggy peanuts, rainwater, cooked sweet potatoes, touch of honey, caramel, freshly cut red apples, banana, grass, field flowers and - after warming up - very obvious DMS. Very spritzy onset, overcarbonation stinging painfully on the tongue's surface, distracting from the fruity flavours of red apple, light banana, peach and pineapple, harshening an otherwise slick, somewhat thinnish body; rounded, thinly caramelly and very slightly peanutty as well as softly bready maltiness with light phenolic spicy notes and lingering fruity esters on top, leading to a minerally, caramel-malty and fruity finish, in which some soapy coriander shows up - the soapiness lingering beyond the spiciness - as well as a hint of very softly bitterish floral hoppiness. Remains altogether sweet, simple, fruity and malty, straightforward and unpretentious but drinkable enough (if it weren't for that damned DMS). I would, however, rather classify this as a Belgian style amber ale (in the 'spéciale belge' tradition) than as an 'international' (so in essence: American) style amber ale...

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Jumbo, Odijk. Murky amber with a white head. Malty aroma with some caramel. Sweet taste with lots of yeast. Beyond the yeast sediment taste it's actually a decent beer but it's a bit simple and almost amateurish.

Het contrast met de USA kon bijna niet groter. Even resetten dus met een karamellige bock
