On tap at Tapistry, pours a hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of brown sugar, booze, and estery notes - smells pretty chaotic. Flavour is harsh, with lots of gasoline, esters and perfume. That is not even close to dialled in correctly. A mess.

On tap at Tapistry, pours a clear pale copper with a small white head. Aroma reveals faded strawberry notes and muted earthy hops. Flavour is really not cohesive, with a strange strawberry character and earthy hops. The combination does not work well together at all. Poor.

On tap at Tapistry, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out earthy malt, bready notes, and motor oil. Flavour is rich and oily, with charcoal, oily notes, and earthy malt. This drinks like ink. Quite repulsive.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/15/2019. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lightly tart/tangy pink guava, fruit skin, mandarin orange, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of guava, citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of lightly tart/tangy pink guava, fruit skin, mandarin orange, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and slight fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of pink guava, fruit skin, mandarin orange, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of guava, citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.3%. Overall this is a delicious fruited NEIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of guava, citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish; nicely soft feel. Great Citra, Mandarina profile. Very vibrant, juicy, and fairly dank/earthy hops with nice guava presence; and a balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example. Liked it better than the base beer, stronger/more vibrant aromas.

Draft at Mariano’s. Nice fresh dry hop smell with pine boughs and seeds. Hazy brownish body under a scrum of IPA foam. Plenty of Northwestern hop resin on the tongue. There’s malt here, too. But that stays way to the back. On second thought, there’s some definite sweetness, just not enough to get in the way. Another example of a big, bossy American Pale Ale, which you’d expect from a West Coast brewer, but instead comes from the Heartland.

Can: Pours black with a huge, thick, dark tan head. Roasty chocolate, light scorched coffee aroma. Taste is dry, dark, chocolate malt, a good amount of ashy/coffee malt bittering. Dry, but creamy feeling. Nicely bodied.....very tasty.
