[33cl can from Beer52.] A glossy almost black pour with a loose beige head; aroma of coffee and tarry malts; taste of sweet coffee and toasted grains; then a bittersweet finish.

330ml can via Beer52: BBE August 2024. Drank while house and dog sitting in Devon on 22nd August 2023. Black bodied, tanned head. Decent enough Welsh Stout, malty with a coffee and chocolate feel. Bit thin sadly.

Can at The Justice Mill, Aberdeen. It pours clear orangey - amber with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh pine, touch green, biscuity, bready, zingy citrus action, lemon and grapefruit. The taste is crisp, dry, fairly clean, snappy bitterness, fresh pine upfront, grass, pithy, zesty, lemon, lime, grapefruit, pithy, bread and biscuit in the malt base with a dry, snappy finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Nothing wrong with that. Happy to chug one down.

Tap at Elusive with Dad, 23rd December 22. Pours almost black, quite thin. Aroma is roasted malts, soy. Taste is bitter, cocoa and roasted malts, light citrus. Not bad.

Can bought at Elusive Tap. Aroma had citrus and mocha. Murky cols. Fluffy foamy beige head. Initial coffee bitterness followed by a big sweet edged citrus wave. All balances out into the finish. Medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Pleasant. Perhaps lacks some oomph.
