Slightly hazy deep amber/copper coloured body with an absolutely huge and undrinkable tan head. Aroma of english hops, nice caramel malt, some metal and a solid amount of fruits-grapes, apricots and peaches. Medium-bodied; Mild malty taste with very minimal hops and a decent fruity flavour. Aftertaste very bland and showing a small amount of the character. Overall, a pretty bad offering - very mild tasting and the head and carbonation detract from the beer. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 12-September-2005.

Deep mostly opaque brown body with reddish highlights at the edges, thin buff head. Aroma of molasses, roasted malts, and chocolate, reminiscent of cocoa puffs, with very light honey. Light, bitter cocoa puffs body with roasted malts, watery, paired with subtle thin, sweet honey tones. Weak, watery finish. Motor City Brewing Works is currently putting out the worst bottled craft beer produced in the state. It’s great to see local beer in bottles, but these aren’t going to cut it against tough competition in local beer stores.

Hazy tangerine-colored body with cakey yeast sediments, thin off-white head. Aroma of bready yeast, nuts, cereals, and light tart notes. Cerealy, nutty body, and watered down, characteristic of all of this brewer’s bottled beers, with light wet hay and citrusy wheat notes that play second fiddle. Sourish tang in the finish with wet socks and muddled esters. Thin and simply not good.

Tap at HDG - cloudy medium red pour, with a lasting ring of lace - aroma of roasted nuts, vanilla, a bit of earthy, musty character - thin and quite dry - nutty character dominates, with some herbal notes, vanilla, minerals - loaded with oxidation, metallic character, and various other flaws that just pile on top of one another.
