On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear orangish gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of earthy maple with some sweet grains and a hint of grass. Flavor has a much more earthy maple up front with a some earthy grain and earthy pine underlying.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a small dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with well balanced pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Minimal earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and slightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a very good pale lager. Good balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt notes with some light hop presence; and good strength. Taste of toast, biscuit, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, light nuttiness, herbal, and roast/yeast earthiness. Light earthy/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, light herbal, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and complexity of roast/bready malt with light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, moderately crisp, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice schwarzbier style. All around good complexity and robustness of roast/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity of bright citrus/floral hops with moderate bready malt sweetness; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and minimal cloying flavors after the finish.
