Cask at Volstead. Clear amber with small beige head. Sweet caramel, light roast, soft red fruits, brown bread, light leaves, dried plums, dank hops, milk chocolate. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Hoppy indeed, and quite impressive for a cask ale.

Bottle shared in London - care of Colin. Pours clear golden-brown with a steady, creamy khaki head. Citrus rind in the nose, moderate toasted bread, nips of roast. Light sweet flavour with some ashy roast, dry cocoa, scorched earth, orange rind. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, with burnt toast, earth, dried citrus peel.
