Can. Unclear amber with a white head. Aroma is less than vibrant with spices, bread, grapefruit and underripe tropical fruit. 7- Barely medium bodied, dryish. An unusual woody and herbal note is prominent, with some peach, bread and citrus. Quite strong bitterness at the end. Modest aroma but pretty assertive after that.

440ml can(!). Deep amber with a beige head that fades to a coat in a La Trappe glass. Aroma of dried fruit, some dough, spices, a hint of chocolate. Alcohol is not obvious.Full bodied, moderate carbonation. Only fairly sweet for this sort of thing with lots of dried fruit, some dark sugars and chocolate. There's firmish bitterness with spices and orange peel to clean things up at the end. Not as complex as some, but tasty, convincing and with a lightness of touch (like St B 12) that means the beer remains just a fun drink. Very impressive.

On tap at the Lumsden. Pours orange brown. Caramel, raisins, apple, biscuit, touch of synthetic raspberry. Medium body, a touch over carbonated for the style for me. Fine.
