Can at CBC Islington, thanks to Fergus. It pours deep orange - copper with a thick beige head. The aroma is earthy, toasty. sweaty, toffee, oily, brown bread, smoked malt and honey-glazed ham. The taste is soft, sweet, oily, toffee, caramel, raisin, dull smoke, earthy, smoked ham and bread. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Good boozy kick in the background. Not too shabby.

Can from Hog's Back Brewery Shop (yes, HBB, embrace the future!). A low key vinous aroma, but not much to it. An almost purple brown. Thin off-white head. Sour, but as per the aroma it's low key - not necessarily a negative comment, let me add. Reminds me of one of those carbonated non-alcoholic berry. drinks that my parents have with a meal instead of wine. Only with stewed fruits and a hint of booze. Medium bodied. Light but leaves a sticky mouthfeel. Fizzy carbonation. Astringent finish. Ermmmm... well..... I like it. An extremely polite Sour Brown. Not a great example of the style but refreshing enough.

Can shared in London - big thanks to Fergus. Pours clear ruby with a small, frothy white head. The aroma holds restrained smoke, toffee, dried berries. Medium sweet flavour with nice bready character, more toffee, light berries, soft smoke. Medium bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Pretty smooth finish, some creamy toffee, more mellow smoke. Fun stuff.
