[9/26/15] Bottle sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2015 in Bodegraven. Thanks everyone who shared bottles! Clear deep amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, a bit of fruitiness. Sweetish flavor with malt, caramel, toast, and a drier finish, mildly bitterish. Medium-bodied.

HEYY!! I got on my good foot and bought this from Oddbins Beer Shop, Blackheath. Brown pour with an off-white head. Aromas of fresh tobacco, chocolate, raisin, caramel and toffee apple. No funky aromas unfortunately. I think any beer with a James Brown tag should be a challenging geuze, plenty of funk in there, HA!! This is also the ’soul’ beer I’ve had with the James Brown moniker...alright, alright that’s enough of the puns! Flavas (can’t help myself!) of toffee, dark fruits, caramel and sultana. Bitter malt finish. I feel good after that.

Keg at the Euston tap. Mostly clear golden / light orange coloured pour with a fading white head. Aroma is nice tropical notes, lychee and passion fruit, mango, nice clean juicy fruit hop. Flavour is crisp ams dry grain, mellow tropical fruit, mango, wheat . palate is gassy, spritzy carbonation, drying finish, too much carbonation. Decent effort.
