Got in a BIF from oline73. 12 ounce can into snifter, canned in 9/2016. Pours dense and opaque dark brown/black color with a small fairly dense tan head with solid retention, that reduces to a spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the lace. Aromas of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, molasses, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, coffee, fudge, maple syrup, rum, bourbon, raisin, fig, plum, date, tobacco, oak, and roast/toasted earthiness. Incredible aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and rum/bourbon barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, molasses, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, coffee, fudge, maple syrup, rum, bourbon, raisin, fig, plum, date, tobacco, oak, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, molasses, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, coffee, fudge, maple syrup, rum, bourbon, raisin, fig, plum, date, tobacco, oak, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and rum/bourbon barrel flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Minimal dryness from roast or barrel spice. Light carbonation and huge full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, slick, and rich mouthfeel that is insane. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish; and zero barrel booziness. Overall this is an insane barrel aged imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and rum/bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the enormous ABV. Pretty much perfectly balanced between malt and barrel notes; without being boozy at all. Not as roasty as I expected for a stout, but the level of complexity is mind blowing. A really amazing offering.

Pours hazy golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big banana, lemon, orange zest, clove, peppercorn, wheat, bread, herbal, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, banana/oranges, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big banana, lemon, orange zest, clove, peppercorn, wheat, bread, herbal, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness, yeast spiciness, and slight tangy wheat on the finish; with lingering notes of banana, lemon, orange zest, clove, peppercorn, wheat, bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, banana/oranges, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/grainy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.6%. Overall this is a great hefeweizen! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, banana/oranges, and pale malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink. This tastes very spot on for a hefeweizen. I would have never guessed that it was brewed with fruit if they didn’t specify it on the label. A very enjoyable offering.
